This policy explains how WantBuilt handles information when you browse, register, publish, or participate in projects.
Information we collect
We process account information you provide, such as your name, email address, and password hash; requests, challenges, applications, and submissions you publish; and session and technical records needed to operate and secure the service. We do not store plaintext passwords.
Google sign-in
When you choose Google sign-in, WantBuilt requests only openid, email, and profile to verify your identity and obtain your verified email and display name. We do not request Google Drive, Gmail, or other Google product data, and we do not retain Google access or refresh tokens.
How we use information
We use information to create and protect accounts, display marketplace content, connect requesters and builders, process applications and challenge entries, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, and improve WantBuilt.
Public content and sharing
Requests, challenges, public profiles, and submissions you choose to publish may be visible to internet visitors. We share necessary data with hosting, authentication, and privacy-friendly analytics providers only to operate the service, or when required by law or platform safety. We do not sell personal information.
Analytics
WantBuilt uses Plausible to understand page traffic, referral sources, and broad device categories. We use this information to improve the product, not to build cross-site advertising profiles.
Retention, security, and choices
We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We use password hashing, HttpOnly sessions, PKCE, and least-privilege access to protect accounts. You may stop using Google sign-in, sign out, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information.
Google user data
WantBuilt's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product or applicable requirements change and will publish the current version here. For privacy questions or data requests, contact kouyihuan@gmail.com.
